PLXResTool is a specialised post-processing and data management application developed by Innovative Geotechnics for extracting, organising, and visualising analysis results generated by PLAXIS 2D. The software automates the Python scripting workflow required for result extraction, enabling engineers to efficiently retrieve and process large volumes of analysis data with minimal manual intervention.

Key Features
PLXResTool automates the generation and execution of the Python scripts required for PLAXIS 2D result extraction. Compared with the conventional manual scripting approach, this significantly improves efficiency, ensures a consistent extraction process, and eliminates the need for users to manually develop, modify and execute project-specific Python scripts.

Automatically extracts effective soil pressure, total soil pressure, groundwater pressure and total lateral pressure acting on both the front and back of the selected retaining wall for all analysis stages. The extracted pressure distributions can be visualised, compared between construction stages and exported to Microsoft Excel for structural design, verification and project documentation.

Compare calculated PLAXIS 2D results directly with user-defined structural design capacity profiles, including bending moment, shear force and axial force capacities.

Calculate equivalent horizontal soil spring stiffness profiles based on changes in effective horizontal soil stress and wall displacement between selected analysis stages. The calculated soil spring values can be used to develop equivalent Winkler Spring models for structural design.

Display excavation profiles together with structural response plots to facilitate interpretation of retaining wall behaviour throughout the staged excavation process.

Assign project-specific load factors and retaining wall spacings to individual analysis stages to automatically generate unfactored and factored structural design forces. This eliminates repetitive manual calculations and improves the efficiency and consistency of structural design.

Export processed results directly to structured Microsoft Excel workbooks containing project information, numerical data and professionally formatted charts for reporting, documentation and further engineering assessment.

PLXResTool significantly improves the efficiency of post-processing PLAXIS 2D analyses by automating the Python scripting workflow for result extraction, together with comprehensive tools for result visualisation, comparison and reporting. By reducing the need for manual scripting and repetitive data processing, the software enables engineers to focus on engineering interpretation and design, resulting in more efficient, consistent and reliable project deliverables.
